Pineapple Jalapeño Agua Fresca (Printable)

Sweet pineapple, lime and a hint of jalapeño blended and chilled for a bright, spicy-sweet Mexican beverage.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit & Vegetables

01 - 4 cups fresh pineapple, peeled and cubed
02 - 1 medium jalapeño, seeded if desired and chopped
03 - 1 lime, juiced (about 1 tablespoon)

→ Liquids & Sweeteners

04 - 3 cups cold water
05 - 2 tablespoons agave syrup or granulated sugar, adjust to taste
06 - Ice cubes, for serving

# How To Make It:

01 - Place the pineapple, chopped jalapeño, lime juice, agave syrup (or sugar) and cold water into a blender.
02 - Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and homogenous, about 30–60 seconds depending on blender strength.
03 - Taste and adjust sweetness or heat as needed, adding more agave/sugar for sweetness or additional jalapeño (with seeds for extra heat).
04 - For a smoother finish, pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing with a spoon to extract liquid and discard pulp.
05 - Fill glasses with ice, pour the agua fresca over the ice, and garnish with pineapple wedges or jalapeño slices if desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Your friends will ask for seconds the moment they taste the burst of sweet heat.
  • This drink can be tailored to any crowd or mood just by tweaking the jalapeño or sweetener.
02 -
  • The first time I made this, I forgot to strain it and the texture was more smoothie than sip—learn from my mistake.
  • Letting it chill for a few minutes before serving lets the flavors meld and the spice mellow to perfection.
03 -
  • Blending in short pulses first breaks down diced pineapple faster and avoids any stray chunks.
  • A pinch of salt heightens both sweetness and heat, making each sip more vibrant.
